Snail on a slope

design based on Strugatsky novel "Snail on a slope", where Issa's haiku was taken as epigraph. the novel describes two men on an alien planet, covered with a wild forest with unknown potential. the research base of that Forest is known as City, and the City itself is a place very weird, chaotic and absurd with its burocracy, politics and relationships. one man, Perez, was brought to the City to do the job that is not defined, placed in conditions he can't handle and all he wants is run to the Forest. the other man, Candid, was lost in the Forest a long time ago and resqued by local folk, who grow their houses, clothes and other things like plants, but can't fully understand their own world and it's harsh laws, so Candid is trying to return back to City to his kind, just to be where he thinks he belongs.
